The CZ was still one of the best, if not THE best, transcontintal train.

Something I never knew: seats 25-30 in the dome coaches did not recline or have leg and foot rests.

I didn't notice the lack of leg rests when I rode the CZ  from Sacramento to Chicago in Sept 1969.  But, then again, I had a roomette, so I spent all of my dome time in the observation dome lounge car bringing up the markers.
