Nostalgia & History > Sorting through prints while waiting for paint to dry (really!)Date: 06/18/21 12:25 Sorting through prints while waiting for paint to dry (really!) Author: pbrasky I went through my slide carousel marked "local", but didn't scan any slides. However, I did find some prints which you may be of interest. In 1999, while training to be a conductor/engineer on a local tourist RR, I was invited to become a crew member on various fall fan trips operated by the NYS&W Historical Society. Those trips were pulled by NY S&W's #142, a Chinese-built 2-8-2 (Tan Shin or Shan Loco Works, outside of Beijing). I was a go-fer, but did get to operate her on several occasions. The two scans (from prints) are of #142 at Binghampton in the Fall of 1999 and of the E-8 unit, that sometimes accompanied our lengthy fan trips: at Utica Shops.
