Great photo from an iconic location . . . did you have any hassle with the property owner to get on top of the tunnel back then. . .?

Not to answer for Tom, but I never experienced any problems getting to this location back then.  Shoot, we used to camp (3 cars) and cook out on the small cut at the east switch of the siding, around the corner from this shot.  Everyone behaved themselves and things were great.  Back in the good ol' days...

Good one. Looks like you caught the infamous pealing 7319 back in the mid train helpers.

Haha, it wasn’t very good camouflage as I spotted it right away!

Cool photo
love images with train wrapping around background like this. 7319 in camouflage adds value. Makes me miss the sights and sounds of the late SP

Nope, you could drive right up to the Loop, camp out if you wanted, walk just about anywhere along the right of way, just stay off Ranch property. However, more and more people started leaving more and more garbage and not respecting the private property signs got the access to this spot closed.

Yes that is SP 7319 in the helper set in the background. This unit always a-peeled to me :)

Man, that 7319 looked like a camo unit back there.  I've seen some SD45 tunnel motors with bad paint but nothing like this.
