A few more at Collinwood Yard
Author: gcm

Dec 78
A few more looking east of the ex-NYC Collinwood Yard east of Cleveland.
Most of the old buildings are now gone.
A couple of nice heavyweight cars and crane in the work car group.

Thanks to this historic overview with its interesting scenes of the once proud Collinwood Yard.

Looks like one of the Bangor & Aroostook GP38s is trailing on the train to the left in the third pic.  Very nice series.

Looks like an F7A-GP38-F7A trio. There is another unit behind the BAR.  Ben

Today Collinwood is MUCH less.  Trains are refueled; some locals; some intermodal; some block swapping.  Everything else is gone.

So where are the big yards in Cleveland?  NS switches Rockport Yard out by Berrea, but is the old NKP 55th Street Yard still active.  And where does CSX have thier big yard?
