Early 1989 was a great time to railfan Southern California. Example, the Santa Fe borrowed F7A 347C and 347B from the Sacramento railroad museum for publicity use and February 9 was the planned day for filming in the desert near Barstow. Despite the weather, I was all over this and after being escorted by CHP through a snowy Cajon Pass and waiting several hours, my hope for sunshine was never realized. This less than perfect shot was taken at Hinkley Road in between filming sessions and as time passes it has grown on me. Like they say, a cloudy shot is better than no shot at all...enjoy.

Looks pretty darn nice to me!  That red and silver looks great no matter the weather.

It is growing on me too.  Great to see the silver paint masked correctly. I never saw them as perfectly clean and dent free as this. A tribute and honor to all the folks who developed and ran the Chiefs.

Super picture. Lack of bright sunshine brings out detail.
