Nice look back.  The only time I saw these was when they came to Denver to be rebuilt in the  '90's.

The 2700 gained some notoriety later on as one of the few end cab switchers to get SPSF paint.  It lingered in "Kodachrome" colors long enough to be patched to UPY 1298, and was the very last locomotive repainted out of that scheme by UP in 2001 (the other late survivor, SD40 7357, was retired almost simultaneously).
