If you're referring to how the wiper arm was propelled; as I recall both engineer and fireman's wipers had an "Air-Push" pneumatic cylinder type unit. Each wiper operated independently of the other. I was glad to have air wipers on my old cab over Freightliner after getting out of my 47 Plymouth with vacuum wipers. Remember going up hills with vacuum wipers in a hard rain? |
