Just another Santa Fe . . .
Author: 3rdswitch

.   .   .   Santa Fe's Los Angeles Hobart Yard diesel service facility in JUN '87, before it moved three miles east to Commerce, on the site of a former Lever Bros plant. The view is looking pretty much due west. Tracks left to right, track one, caboose track, track two and three, ready tracks, track four, inbound power, tracks five and six, service tracks, and up on the rise track seven, sand and diesel fuel track. It was just being built when I hired out in MAY '78. This entire area is now paved over and part of BNSF's massive Hobart intermodal facility.  At one time billed as the largest rail intermodal facility in the WORLD.
