Unless I'm mistaken, the square windows on the sides means these are E7's.  If not, I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Very NICE look at the Golden State! Great to see everything so green in mid-April. California received lots of rain back in the early 1950's. My elementary school was called Mudbank instead of Rosebank back in those days.

Couple months later the westward schedule was
switched -- #3 started arriving LA in the morning.

This is just east of Beaumont?

Old SP RR LA based passenger train and engine crews  worked to and from Indio, CA.
