Nostalgia & History > gn sd9Date: 05/18/22 07:33 gn sd9 Author: schneid I have 2 questions: What type of horn did a great northern sd9 have?
Did the gn sd9 run long hood forward or short hood forward? thanks. paul Date: 05/18/22 07:44 Re: gn sd9 Author: NPEDDIE GN first generation Geep's and SD's all ran long nose forward. Don't know about the horns.

In that view, 573 has a Leslie Tyfon A-200-156 on the left facing us and a Leslie Supertyfon S-25 on the right facing away. GN 587 appears to have a three chime Supertyfon of some sort (either an S-3L or an S-3K). The Supertyfons are retrofits - new from EMD, the GN SD9's would have had pairs of A-200-156's. http://www.gn-npjointarchive.org/GNWerkema/GNRHS.Werkema.77.jpg http://www.gn-npjointarchive.org/GNWerkema/GNRHS.Werkema.79.jpg |
