1. E8 4258 about to depart the yard at Bay Head Jct. April 1979. 2. Former CNJ GP40P 4111 and an E8 head up a early morning rush hour train at Point Pleasant Beach. June 1987. 3. 5. NJT obtained (leased??) several former Amtrak E60's to replace the GG-1's. Long Branch May 12, 1990. 6. A train of Arrow MU's approach Long Branch and their final stop. July 3, 1988. 8. Same spot today. The station now has a high level platform so this image is a bit wedgy. 9. 4126 has just crossed the Navesink River and is about tp stop at the Red Bank station. March 1988. It's amazing how both Red Bank and Long Branch have changed in the past 30 years or so. The extension of the wires played a big role in that change. I remember when the bank in Red Bank opened a new branch office in Long Branch, NJ.
It was known as the Long Branch branch of the Red Bank bank. Ba-da-boom! Bing!! Go |
