BN SD45 6464 Passing Tower 85 in Houston

BN SD45 6464 built Jan. 1969 as CB&Q 523 and retired Feb. 1984, and train photoed passing Tower 85 in Houston, TX in October 1979 by Karl Miller.

That's an interesting consist.  I see a B&O GP40, but I also see a Santa Fe GP7 or GP9, so that GP40 could very well be wearing a Santa Fe 9000-series number, given that this was taken in 1979.

Cool  images.  Was the CB&Q SD-45 in Burlington red colors?  Don't think I've ever since an image of that.

I suspect you may be onto something there with us looking at a combined ATSF/BN light power movement.   Since those roads shared the use of HB&T's Milby Street engine terminal would they have ever collected power and moved them together to/from Milby Street for servicing purposes?

No, there were no SD45's in Q Chinese Red.
The CB&Q SD45's were delivered in that  pre-BN green with wide white stripe.
Someone probably has a photo to post if you can't find a sample of that scheme.
