C&NW X300901 gets a new coat!
Author: santafe199

Scanning through Jim Watson’s “C&NW” Smith-Victor slide box I found a few goodies. There’s a two year span between these two not-exactly-the-same images. I thought it interesting that there is what looks like cooking and/or eating ware in the same window of both images. I wonder if this isn’t a converted kitchen car for some big C&NW maintenance group...

1. C&NW X-300901 sits in Des Moines, IA on November 27, 1974.

(primer... paint, paint, paint, clean-up... ;^)

2. C&NW X-300901 still sits in Des Moines, IA with a spiffy new paint job. Update: October 15, 1976.

Thanks for looking back (twice)!

Lance, 2 neat photographs. I hven't ever seen the dark color on CNW camp cars, The yellow version looks real fresh, and think it traveled in the wreck train.   KCRW287

What a cool paint job!  I can't believe they painted it again a short two years later!
