The boss wears lavender!
Author: santafe199

Time was, you could look at a group of “hard hats” and pick out the foreman (read: boss) right off the bat. He always had the white hard hat, while everybody else had the standard yellow, or whatever else. But in this case it would seem the ante has been upped! You can now tell the boss by the shade of his pants. What a different time it was in 1977! Here we see a M.O.W. man wearing pants probably better suited for a disco-dance floor. Although a funny little instinct tells me this man’s musical taste probably runs more to the Country & Western side of the ol’ juke box. Would anybody care to wager he has a can of Redman in his pick ‘em-up truck...

Thanks for the wardrobe tip... ;^)

Plum or burgundy, certainly not lavender! A natty shade whatever they are though!

At my stage in life, I always try to wear brown pants.

Yeah... I figgered I might hear from a nit-picker. I ran through a few title variations and settled on lavender because I liked how the word flow rolls off the tongue. Plum just doesn't fit that flow. 'Burgundy' might have worked, though... I Googled up the color lavender and got a "purple color in fashion" sewing guide that has a color called Raisin Purple which is a dead ringer for our swinging foreman's work pantaloons. So you can argue with Google all you like...

And maybe it's just a faded, or "as close as I could find" K-State purple. ( two or three K-State fans in that part of the world).

Pretty classic and bold to wear those colors in the railroad environment. Maybe he was boogeyin' down to TSOP, or headin' for the Soul Train line...

My post age 60 motto has become "never trust a fart". And I will add his whole outfit is just ugly and I can't believe I wore the same stuff.
