Nostalgia & History > A Kodachrome ThirtyDate: 11/24/22 15:50 A Kodachrome Thirty Author: MacBeau It's pretty obvious Richard Egen was more interested in the Santa Fe San Bernardino shop buildings and the merger scheme GP30 than the blue and yellow GP behind it, July 1988. It looks to be a string of Santa Fe's great 60 foot insulated box cars. Out here in North Carolina we could get dozens of those cars daily from California and Colorado loaded with beer, wine, and tomato products. NS finally made some similar cars for this service out of old CSX auto parts cars. It was great business as long as the insulated car supply held out.
