Awesome video!!!!  I am so grateful I got to vist this line one time but for 4 days.  Well worth it!

Now that's some train!  If only it had a caboose.  Even after all these years I miss seeing one at the end of a train.  It's like ending a sentence without a punctuation mark





 

Great video Jim of a trainfull of coal headed for the Intermountain Power Plant (IPP) outside Delta, UT. I caught one of those trains around that time just east of Colton, UT when I was trying to visit Helper for the first time. Didn’t make it to Helper that trip because of the westbound train. I flipped a U and chased it all the way to Spanish Fork/Springville.

Almost everything in your video has changed, except the tracks. The Utah Railway doesn’t haul coal there anymore. The MK500’s have all gone east as you mentioned. UP hauls the IPP coal, until the power plant finishes converting to natural gas. And the power plant in your video has been torn down.
