Illinois Central Gulf Ad - Executive Accessibility

I found this interesting ad on the inside back cover of TRAINS Magazine; April 1973 issue.

Can anyone even imagine a railroad company doing this ad today and to have the focus of it to contact the Vice-President of Traffic himself, and learn about a customers business and needs ?

I would wonder if a better process would have been to make executives to blue collar railroad jobs for a day, and vice versa... Get to see the others point of view.

On face value it absolutely blows my cynical mind 50 years later. But did it live up to the hype?

Any IC people here that have memories of said program? How did work out?
