Nice one. You don't see a lot of NYC RS11 photos. I had to do a little internet searching after seeing this photo. I didn't realize they came with a different style NYC logo on the cab. I see it has an F1 stencil so it has dual controls. Thanks for posting this, they only had 9 from what I just read. Almost a forgotten about model on the NYC.

They should have had six more, NYC 8009-8014; these were actually built but apparently not accepted by NYC.  They went to the D&H as their 5000-5005 (see https://bridge-line.org/alcors11).  Interesting that NYC then turned around and a year or so later bought 25 RS32s.  How different were the 12-251Cs in the RS32s and RS36s from the 12-251Bs in the RS11s?

Pretty sure the NYC RS11's had single controls. This one appears to have a mounting bracket for the GRS Automatic Train Stop shoe, but no shoe, on the fourth axle.

While I can't prove it, it looks like the second group of RS11's were built by Alco as speculation units. Three were built in late 1959 and three were built in early 1960. They were built as short hood forward, dynamic brakes equipped and were painted in the (by then) obsolete lightning strip scheme. Given that they were painted and delivered on the basis of a verbal commitment, I believe they were never "ordered" by the NYC.

Interestingly, the NYC would go on to roster only 44 251 powered Alco's (and the 10 C430's were only on the property for 3 months. A sad way to end a relationship with Alco's biggest customer (both steam and diesel).
