Despite being a slow travel time, on December 13, 2005, Amtrak was operating the Starlight with three full sleepers and four coaches, plus baggage car, dorm, diner, and separate lounges for coach and sleeper passengers.  It was running six hours late however.

Nice photos of a much better time for this train. Unfortunately, photos like this one remind us of how much of the business Amtrak has driven away in the last seventeen plus years.

A little before my stint on the Starlight.  I didn't bump onto it until March of 2007.  Decided to stay there until the end of 2010 when I pulled the pin.
