Ever see a 300 pound ballerina?
Author: santafe199

How ‘bout a 417,000 pound ballerina with 5000 HP + 12 “feet”? Pardon me, but when I scanned Jim Watson’s back-lit, rear ¾ medium telephoto image here I was immediately stricken with the ballerina comparison. Especially with the engine wheel “tippy-toes” silhouetted against the glinting rails...

1. Jim Watson captured UP 5008 on Kodachrome, dancing on the rails in Council Bluffs, IA on April 23, 1975.

Thanks for looking back!

Not to mention that we should be saying "vertically challenged" signals or something like that??
