Conrail E33s under wire on the NEC. October, 1978.
Author: Guitartrain

Before becoming Conrail on April 1, 1976, the E33s worked for the Virginian, Norfolk & Western, New Haven and Penn Central. Here, just before sunset, two of them, now Conrail 4603 & 4??? are zipping across the Patapsco Avenue grade crossing on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, just a few miles north of Conrail's Bayview Yard. 5:25PM on 10-22-78 in Rosedale, MD.

Unique lines on the E33s compared to the more common E44. Thanks for sharing.

Such a cool shot... remember riding through those Maryland grade crossings well.

I think the grade crossing on the NEC is even more interesting...

Last grade crossing was taken out around 1984.
