not my 1st Kodachrome-but check out masterphots dedication
Author: FT

When I saw masterphots post I was impressed. Great work from the start. In 1970 he,Garth Tyckoson, and I were chasing shortlines & industrials in the Arizona desert.
.I thought this would make a great addition to my  "funny slide" collection.

Afterwards he was driving,at 100MPH, ran out of gas. We warned him "driver walks" and would you believe in a short time he was picked up by a bevy of beauties
and whisked to a gas station. What a great road trip that was!

We both look a bit different these days.

Hell of a trip, that one.  Keith,  remember when I got pulled over around Deming, NM with the speedo buried?  The officer took me back to the patrol car and asked if I'd ever driven that fast.  I was racing then and showed him my SCCA National License.  We got talking about Indy and the Unsers (New Mexico racer heroes)  and he ended up writing me up for ten mph over the limit.   The car was Garth's really fast Duster 350;  Canadian version which had less pollution control stuff which made for more power.   And  did we get some great photos of various unknown to us units.  No TO or anything else to show what might be somewhere back then so new territory was really new to us.

We were driving a bit quickly.   On the segment where I ran out of gas,  we got a bit less than 100 miles on a full tank.

That slide pile was FT's traders.  And he's right,  at 80 we do look a bit different....ha ha

I've used it a couple of times for slide presentations,  Winterail and a couple of others.

Delinguents, all delinguents. None of the rest of us back then did anything like that, well maybe other than a
round trip from LA to Chama for a 3 day weekend, but that was only a few times. And maybe those Saturday
Sierra trips. Yup we were all well behaved.

Out

Joe Collias once said he would get off work on Friday afternoon here in St Louis, drive straight through to Cheyenne to shoot steam and be back to work on Monday.  All in a '51 Chevy.  Bet he was a bundle of energy at work Monday.

One of the greatest railfanning quotes of all time!  I remember hearing Jim say that several times.

Remember when he'd yell  'Shut the damn doors" ?    Referring to hood doors when roster shooting a hood unit.
