Towers & Trains-A great combination. 1978.
Author: Guitartrain

1. A New Jersey DOT Cab Control Car is leading a W/B commuter train as it rolls under NJ Rt. 21, the McCarter Highway. Hunter Tower is on the left. 4:40PM on 3-24-78 in Newark, NJ.

2. Ex Penn Central GP38-2-8054 & ex PC (New York Central) U25B-2525 are leading two other diesels on an empty Conrail coal hopper train making its way through the interlocking at CP Banks. Unfortunately, Banks Tower is long gone. 5:00PM on 5-29-78 in Marysville, PA.

3. In this view from the Northern Central line bridge over Market Street, Conrail E44-4440 has come out of Harrisburg on the Cumberland Valley Branch and is passing Lemo ( or "J" ) tower. An excellent article about "J" Tower, by Ken Murray, appeared in the Autumn 1997 issue of the PRR TH&S publication The Keystone, Volume 30, number 3. Lemo has been restored as "J" and now resides in Strasburg, PA on the Strasburg Railroad. 6:00PM on 9-17-78 in Lemoyne, PA.

Bill - Great shots, thanks for sharing.  It wasn't easy to get something going by Lemo Tower.  In the late PC and early Conrail era, the most common move seemed to be light engines between the Harrisburg station and Enola, or light power being turned around on the connections at Lemo.
