The peak was usually duirng the grain rush in late summer and early fall when there might be one solid (not unit) grain train a day and #81 would be mostly grain. I have no data on either GN or NP from the forties. In the late 50s there were only 3 ot 4 SCHEDULED GN trains each way,
The trains in the sixties were longer and much heavier than trains in earlier years. NP had 5 or 6 each way west of Laurel in the late 60s with the trains slightly shorter and less heavier than those of GN. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 05/31/23 20:58 by Dick. |
