A westbound Siskiyou Line train at Azalea. The new track curving off to the right is a realignment of the main line to widen a curve.

Always fascinated by the photos in this area, just recently I figured out that the Mount Shasta resort Golf Course is to the left of the tracks. For perspective the smaller hill near the photo center is Spring Hill at the north edge of the town of Mt Shasta, Black Butte to the left, Mt Shasta just off the right side of the photo. Interstate 5 would be pretty much left to right about where the distant tree line is, it passes to the left of BB.

Not enough info to give away your secret photo spot though. Great lighting.

+ had to dig deep to find a recent photo of the location, looking to the south with two photographers on the left side. That would be the small cut on the new track to the right side of Bob's photo. Vegatation has matured a little bit.

That is a nice composed scene.  I too have always had the black widow paint scheme as a favorite.
