It was a good time to be a railfan during the CNW merger into the UPRR in 1995 into 1996. Just never knew what you were going to get.
First 3 are all from Beverly(Cedar Rapids) Iowa during September 1995. When the UP came they sent the CNW 8600 and 8700 into the intermodal fleet.

The day after Thanksgiving 1995 I found a pair of BL20-2s laying over in Ames Yard and up the road caught them MCDM SB at Iowa Falls with an 800 series EMD

These next 3 I took on January 13 1996 at C St SW in Cedar Rapids when the Cedar River Bridge was still single tracked. UP double tracked it in the early 2000s.

Yes 4700s had ATC as evident by the XPRMT at Bertram Iowa in March 1996
I always liked to get people shots. Here is my friend WW Wilson on a DMPR at Beverly April 18 1996. While testing the air he invited me up to get a head on shot of the tower crossovers on the east end of Beverly Yard.

In May of 1996 we have another DMPR with Bill Wilson and Gay Williams as the crew at Beverly with a high wide
Then June 24 1996 we got the GECLOC rolling west at Fairfax Iowa with the Atlanta Olympic engines.
Thanks for looking at this colorful time.
