Is that a road slug behind it?

Car behind the engine is a water car, of which Rayonier had several. A number of logging railroads used such cars, they could be anything from old steam loco tenders to water tanks mounted on short flatcars or tender frames to tank cars. Such cars would typically be equipped with both fire pumps and hose reels for firefighting duties and track sprinklers normally used to wash sand off rails after the engine, doing that lessened wheel and rail wear and eased the passage of the following log cars (remove sand, decrease friction, etc). The Rayonier 45 was one of four SP AS616s factory equipped with the gyralites, SP 5273-5276. Rayonier bought three of them and Oregon & Northwestern the fourth.
