Nostalgia & History > Snowy South Park Rail Society Como, CO, 27 Mar 2024

South Park Rail Society campus includes the closed 2-story Como Hotel / Eating House at left, former Denver, South Park & Pacific RR depot, and stone 6-stall roundhouse.  Snow and windy conditions existed 27 March 2024 at the closed facility.  The narrow gauge rails were removed in September 1938.

What is the situation with the hotel?
Ownership, plans for the future, etc.

PS. Como is the kind of place I could really love to live. Until everyone else moves there… lol.

Great work is being done at Como.  Is there a diagram of current track on the ground and future track planned?

He sure would!  His attendence at the C&S Narrow Gauge Convention every August was sacrosanct!  When I came to Missouri for the 2017 Solar Eclipse, I asked him to join John Rus, my brother Mart and me to make a day of it.  "Oh, no, you don't" says he. "I reserved my room (at the then-open Como Hotel) a year ago already, and I ain't missing that, Bud!"  When he called you "Bud" with that certain tone of voice, you knew there was no more talkin' about it.
