What had been an everyday photo is very interesting to see. Lots of equipment and buildings that are simply gone with the wind.
All that and interesting to see the livestock cars on the head end.

Very NICE photo of the Cheyenne I remember. The Hitching Post was a good motel to watch trains from your room.

Interesting photo. How far west will the Burlington power go? Were the locomotives radio equipped and did they have the UP frequencies too?

How far west did RI power run on UP? I wouldn't think they'd want it west of Cheyenne, not having dynamics.

Since the photos show Burlington motive power, how does Rock Island enter this discussion?

I don't think RI power went much further west than North Platte from what I've read...

I guess don't matter to you Young bucks much.  But living in Utah working in Cheyenne, I spent about six months living in the Hitching Post watching train after train from my bathroom window.  Those were the days.
