Nice photos Mr. Morris, though it is sad to see a rather unphotogenic locomotive on the point.  I prefer the going-away shot.

Would you have perferred that SP take the FP45 route like the Santa Fe did?

They may not be PAs r FP7s, but I thought the SDP45 looked fine on the point of there trains.  I remember one day watching the southbound Cascade approach Labish siding at speed, hit the east (SP back then) siding switch and do a bit of a bob & weave.  The engineer could be seen holding on to the horn handle, his coffee thermos perched so it could be seen through the front window; it hardly moved.  Good times!
