Author: Redwater Harlem was at the end of a branchline of the Milwaukee Road in North Dakota. No trace of Harlem can be found on a map now. Unknown date for photo, from ND Historical Society collection.

A 1958 topo map on Historic Aerials shows an abandoned ROW in Harlem Township. This probably corresponds to the Harlem branch shown in the 1923 Official Guide. The branch came off the main line at Andover and ran 55 miles roughly northward to Harlem, passing though Pierpoint, Langford, Britton, Newark, Brampton, and Cogswell. It crossed over an ex-NP line at Stirum. I lose the trail on the topo map at about 123rd & 81st.

Common in Southern Minnesota, too. SR2 |
