There is one double track bridge there over I-80 now and I don't remember two, but that was a long time ago. Regards, Jim Evans Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/19/24 07:56 by FiveChime. Date: 04/19/24 10:16 Re: F Unit Friday. SP 6440 West, Coming Down Cape Horn 6/67 Author: pt199 Beautiful image!

There's only a few actual double-track bridges on Donner -- the others are single-track bridges side by side. Date: 04/19/24 12:33 Re: F Unit Friday. SP 6440 West, Coming Down Cape Horn 6/67 Author: FiveChime Thanks, I was just up there last week and didn't notice that there were twp bridges.

SP 6440 West, Coming Down Cape Horn 6/67 Author: coach It's amazing how much freight rolled over Donner back then--lots and lots of freight to and from the SF Bay Area. Lots of warehouses, military bases, canneries, etc. all getting carload service.
