Alco safety lettering ID

Former D&H Alco S2. Given it's location above the truck and in front of the cab, what might the lettering say? Something about fuel? Thanks.

I think it says

Engine
Fuel
CO

Engine fuel cut out

There was an oblong ball shaped handle (which seems to be the light colored "thing" in the photo above the brake cylinder), attached to a wire rope that activated a manual cut out valve that was spring loaded. This shut off the fuel supply to the engine.

At least this is what I believe it is.

First word is "EMERG" for Emergency.
