A C425 for 4/25
Author: swaool

Having posted a C424 yesterday for 4/24 (see https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,5852688), I feel compelled to post a C425 today for 4/25.  So please be tolerant of this photo of EL 2462 on a westbound "dimensional extra", taken at Marion (OH) in October 1971.  Two things about this photo; I was experimenting with Agfachrome CT-18 at the time (it was faster and cheaper than Kodachrome, hard to believe how long it took me to learn that lesson) so the color is a little bit weird despite some Photoshop trickery.  And, I forgot to cock the shutter as the train was approaching.  By the time I did so, the locomotive was sneaking out of the frame.  Amazing this slide didn't land in the round file years ago.

That dimensional load special move was a super nice and unusual catch.
Thanks for preserving and posting this historic photo.

Great photo of an unusually tall load. Just how many of us have used a camera that required one to cock the shutter!
