Nostalgia & History > A C425 for 4/25Date: 04/25/24 14:30 A C425 for 4/25 Author: swaool Having posted a C424 yesterday for 4/24 (see https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,5852688), I feel compelled to post a C425 today for 4/25. So please be tolerant of this photo of EL 2462 on a westbound "dimensional extra", taken at Marion (OH) in October 1971. Two things about this photo; I was experimenting with Agfachrome CT-18 at the time (it was faster and cheaper than Kodachrome, hard to believe how long it took me to learn that lesson) so the color is a little bit weird despite some Photoshop trickery. And, I forgot to cock the shutter as the train was approaching. By the time I did so, the locomotive was sneaking out of the frame. Amazing this slide didn't land in the round file years ago.

Thanks for preserving and posting this historic photo. ALLEN Date: 04/26/24 07:08 Re: A C425 for 4/25 Author: Gonut1 Great photo of an unusually tall load. Just how many of us have used a camera that required one to cock the shutter!
