On the SP #16 has just left the station but the operator in Tower 17 stopped the train so this Santa Fe freight can cross.
After, the Lone Star will connect to the Santa Fe line going right and head north to Chicago.

Hmmmm, i may be off here, but holding #16 at tower 17 for a Santa Fe frieght was a very rare occurence I thought.  Perhaps this was a period when #16 was subject to delays on the SP.

You're right, this train was rarely held up in Rosenberg before connecting to the Santa Fe.
I don't remember if the SP had delayed it before arrival here on this day.
