Framed in 2007 eastbound on the Gila Sub past the SP era searchlight signals at West Dome, it lives on today as SD40N 1657.

combustion gasses being exhausted. I count 4 fuel tanks. What's impressive is how little the pollution is ---- compared to moving all that freight by highway trucks. There's empties in the train, too. So, any comparison would include an equivalent amount of trailers on the highway, being hauled empty. Yes, trucks burn 'clean', too; however, the hundreds of equivalent tractors needed to replace locos, together produce more total pollution and dangerously more, if in city environments. W.
