Nostalgia & History > Conrail on former PRRDate: 05/01/24 03:14 Conrail on former PRR Author: nydepot CR power move with #2419 C424 leading, Spring 1977.
No location listed. Signals on far right say 129. Any guesses based on that? Which would put it around Acqueduct or Losh's Run on the Hbg/Enola- Ptsbrgh Main Line, Central Region, old Middle Div along the Juniata River which would be behind units. Ben

texchief1 Date: 05/01/24 05:52 Re: Conrail on former PRR Author: swaool Neat shot! Just as info, Conrail 2419 was a C425, ex-PC/nee-PRR same number. Conrail's C424s were numbered 2474-2498.

Ben When I looked at the post earlier I sorta guessed as to location. Wasn't far off actually. This is just off Lower Bailey Road near Baileys Run which is a stone's throw from Losh's Run back here. This is the valley that one can see from US22/322 as ya head west out of the Clarks Ferry area. It would be on the left as one headed west or south side of hwy. And on oppostite side of the Juniata River. Some open area back along that road which eventually puts ya into the Newport Pa area if one was to continie west on Lower Bailey Road. There be some great sounds of the trains in this valley when it's somewhat quiet out. Esp if you are back on the road thru here. This comes off of PA 849 at the west end of Duncannon at was is known as Acqueduct Road. Acqueduct Road becomes Lower Bailey Road. There are a few farm roads that come off Lower Bailey and Acqueduct road back thru here that get ya trackside.
