Changes on the SP in the 1990s. New units with fewer lights and awful sounding push button K3 horns.
Rio Grande tailing helper was nice though!

McCredie Springs to be more accurate (if interested).

As a side note, that train was making a pretty decent speed up the hill.

Interesting mix of freight cars, something from every catagory with a surprising number of cement hoppers, or what looks like cement.
Never saw that 'homestead' before, but I rarely went that far down the hill looking for photos.

Used to be an old section foreman's residence and was taken over by a MOW employee who paid a very minimal rent to stay there. Lasted until the person complained about a water pipe leak so rather than repair it the railroad evicted him and tore the house down.

Also used to be section houses that lasted until around 1990 at Fields. There were also houses at Cruzatte and Cascade Summit but those disappeared a long time before.

Great video. Love seeing the old freightcars that of my modeling era. Lots of run-through traffic off the BN.

Those were the good ole days! Some other recognizable usual traffic from those days; Cotton Belt covered hoppers from Great Western Malting in Vancouver WA, and aluminum ingots on BN cars from aluminum smelters in the PNW, all of which are gone now.
