9/15/90 on the SP California Coast Line

Moorpark
1. An e/b SP train led by SD40T-2R #6847, built 2//72 as SD45T-2 #9182, rebuilt 7//88, took siding.
Simi Valley
2. A w/b SP TOFC train led by SD40T-2 #8305, built 6//74, to UP #4371 11//99, renumbered #2868 3/26/01, retired 9/16/02, also took siding.
Emma Wood State Park
3. The w/b Amtrak Coast Starlight was led by F40PHR #235, built 7//77 with parts from SDP40F #557, with

Image two looks like late 1980s short lived Amtrak platform on Los Angeles Avenue near Tapo Canyon. When Metrolink started up this station stop closed and moved east.

That is the original Amtrak Simi Valley Station.
There aren't too many photos of this Station.
The platform was Similar to the old Chatsworth Station.
That is still on De Soto Ave just south of Plummer St

Fun look back during a bright time on the Coast.    
The area of focus at Emma Wood is where the surf pounds the road.   You can see it wet there.   This season's storms did just that, keeping Emma Wood closed longterm.

On that 1st train, I see alot of head end reefers--miss seeing that traffic on the SP lines....wish UP went after more of it these days.
