You are right that is a quality photo worth looking at.   That must have been the original Boise depot seen in that view.  The present beautifully preserved UP depot was built in 1925 on the south side of the river.   Is the depot and track seen in this photo the original UP (OR&N) line through Boise?   I don't believe any of the rail we see in this photo exists any longer.

I just glanced at the topo map -- doesn't
the pic agree with it?

(I see now -- I didn't know there were two
UP lines thru Boise.)

I must not know how to search.  Looking for aerials of St Louis area 20s-40s.  No luck.

They're mostly in alphabetical order by state. You can put 401
into the page-number box to get to the start of Missouri.

And no doubt you'll find some stuff under Illinois --seems
to me there's a couple of Alton, under Illinois.
