Nostalgia & History > Warbonnet Wednesday in Santa Fe, NM!Date: 09/18/24 08:32 Warbonnet Wednesday in Santa Fe, NM! Author: Chico56 In August 1991 the Santa Fe Ry. art collection was taken to Santa Fe, NM where it was displayed at the Museum of NM for two months. In conjunction with this, the Santa Fe ran a special train from Santa Fe to Lamy for dignitaries, invited guests, local artists, etc. Dubbed the Art Train, it would make two Santa Fe to Lamy and back round trips on August 3.
This was also kind of a last hoorah for the Santa Fe Subdivision as it was sold a few months later and became the Santa Fe Southern Ry. which still operates today. 1. On the first trip, train approaches the Rodeo Road crossing as it heads for Lamy on the Santa Fe Sub. 2. Also heading for Lamy, second run is at milepost 13 on the Santa Fe Sub. Enjoy and happy hump day, Bryan Date: 09/18/24 09:56 Re: Warbonnet Wednesday in Santa Fe, NM! Author: texchief1 What a great look back!
