Wyoming Wednesday, Then and Now
Author: swaool

Speaking of Wyoming Wednesday (see https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,5919905), here's a little then and now comparison, taken at the intersection of Lawver Road and Hoadley Road, near the former control point of West Antelope.  In the "now" pic taken 9/12/24, UP 8532 is the rear DPU on a westbound train of empties heading to the Belle Ayr mine for a reload.  In the "then" pic, C&NW 8568 leads an eastbound train of MCHX loads at the same location in September 1993.  C&NW 8568 was later UP 9080, CN 2115.

Great set, Mike!  Wonder if it is heading back to single track?

Lol, yeah I've had that thought too. Wouldn't that be a kick in the head?

More tracks now but I easily prefer the older shot...

Nice comparison photos. A lot of money spent on providing coal to the nation. Unmatched facility.

I really like the "then and now" shots at Lawver Rd.  IMHO that big curve is one of the best spots on the entire Orin Line.
