Nostalgia & History > B&O Passenger Train PowerDate: 09/19/24 04:24 B&O Passenger Train Power Author: ClubCar This is a re-post as I remember when the B&O was still operating conventional passenger cars in commuter service for the Maryland DOT, and generally they used GP-7's or GP-9's that were equipped with steam boilers for this passenger train service. However, during the warmer months of the year, when steam heat was not needed, there were occasions when other power was sometimes used. On this particular rainy day in August 1974, two F units were substituted for one of the morning trains from Baltimore down to Washington, D.C. Photo is in Camden Station Yard in Baltimore, Maryland.
