Nostalgia & History > More B&W fun at MatfieldDate: 10/30/24 05:53 More B&W fun at Matfield Author: santafe199 I recently got into a fun bit of banter with a friend about shooting in black & white. I have dozens of 35mm B/W negs I shot during the late 70s/early 80s period. Looking back, I feel like I wasted my time & effort in shooting such a small format. But maybe I can have some fun posting a few of the more interesting images.
And maybe this one will help get Mama Nature more in line with normality. The cold weather ambience in this shot helps to cool off recent temperatures. I was out shooting on Monday and it was up in the 90s. Again. It’s almost November, for crying out loud. But not to worry. As a certain faction in our country loves to Trumpet: global warming is just a BS hoax. Yeah, sure it is... 1. Here’s an eastbound manifest -engine # unknown- coming down Crocker Fill at Matfield Green, KS. This train is silhouetted against the winter time afternoon sun. Scanned from a 35mm B/W negative shot in January(?) of 1979. Thanks for looking back!
