Westbound Wednesday - Amtrak #5 Where Trains No Longer Run

Westbound Track #1 over Donner Pass. Scenic line was removed under the Moyors efficency program
back in the 1980s. Now opposing trains get to wait when there is a meet outside the summit tunnel on
Track #2.

Interesting not having baggage right up front.

Coach might be "buffer car" which was common at this time.

Great photos!  When I rode the Zephyr home for Christmas in 1991 I really wanted it to take the "old" track over the summit, but we went through the "Big Hole" instead.
