Santa Fe FE-24 Express Boxcars
Author: ATSF-51-L

When Santa Fe had the 50\' FE-24 Express Boxcars, did they have wood or steal rooofwalks? I\'m pretty sure they had wood roofwalks as delivered, but what\'s the scoop with these things towards the late 1950s, early 1960s?

Thanks

L

Steel in the later years. How many times are you going to ask about this!

The September 1985 Railroad Model Craftsman had an article about Santa Fe Fe-24 express box cars as they appeared in the \'40s and \'50s. Regarding steel running boards, it only stated that they were "fitted as replacements in later years."

The October 1984 RMC covered these cars as they appeared in the \'60s, but I haven\'t seen that article.
