Nostalgia & History > Thanksgiving 1975Date: 11/28/24 21:25 Thanksgiving 1975 Author: jbwest A friend reminded me that this was what I was doing 49 years ago today (more or less). Thanksgiving Day 1975 the American Freedom Train ran from Sparks to Roseville on a cold rainy day and I was able to get a ride on one of the helpers. Not a great picture but a nice memory.

You must be kidding, that is a Great Photo for sure, as I certainly do like it, a great memorial of a part of your life. your eye is drawn deeper down the tracks, and towards the silver signal! The power being delivered by 4449 is obvious, and the curve all contribute to a great portrait. Thank you for that! w. I like how we can see the "grade" in the picture, as the heavy train rolls West toward Roseville. 1975 was an auspicious year for me too; I had just graduated college, and was casting about for what to do "next" with my life.
