1. CB&Q Hi-Rail Vehicle passing through Leland, IL on July 26, 1963. 2. The original Norfolk Southern's boxcar 28226 at Leland,IL on July 17, 1963. The original Norfolk Southern Railway (reporting mark NS) was the final name of a railroad that ran from Norfolk, Virginia, southwest and west to Charlotte, North Carolina. It was acquired by the Southern Railway in 1974, which merged with the Norfolk and Western Railway in 1982 to form the current Norfolk Southern Railway. Wikipedia 3. On the outside of the back wall of the Leland depot was this large metal herald. No, it did not go home with me. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/29/24 10:00 by MartyBernard. 5. This end of Train of the Goddesses also known as the Nebraska Zephyr now at the Illinois Railway Museum. The train is known as the Train of the Goddesses because each of its five cars is named for a classical deity. 6. This is the eastbound Denver Zephyr, Train 10, on July 9, 1963 at Leland, IL. CB&Q E9A 9985A was first up. Date: 11/29/24 12:55 Re: CB&Q at Leland, IL -- The Depot, The Trains, and More -- Part Author: DavidP Nice! That brick platform is so Burlington. Looks like the Nebraska Zephyr may have been combined with the American Royal to KC...is that the case?
