The pictures were mostly taken by Ed von Nordeck, and are now in my collection. Special thanks to Evan Werkema for scanning these slides and prepping them for posting. Many of these pictures I will be posting do not have a location or year noted. I will post that info when available. Also, I will note other photographers when I have that information.
Photo #1) Diner SCD 3659 Santa Cruz Analco. Ex-NYC 445. Built by P-S in 1948. Note car still has original wood slat Venitian blinds in dining room. Taken 1986. Photo #2) 3 drawing room, 6 bedroom Sleeper SCD 707 Tenochtitland. Ex-Butterworth Tours "Richard Warner"; ex-NYC 10-6 sleeper 10111 Eden Valley. Built by Budd in 1949. Butterworth Tours tore out the 10 roomettes at some point and installed 3 drawing rooms in their place, so this was a one-of-a-kind configuration in Mexico. Taken 1986. Photo #3) 10-6 sleeper SCD 277 Lago Yuriria. Ex-IC 3511 Calvert; ex-C&O 2652 City of St. Joseph. Built by P-S in 1950. These cars had the 6 bedrooms in the center of the car, and 5 roomettes at each end. Taken 1976. Edited 2 time(s). Ex-C&O 2632 City of Portsmouth. Built by P-S in 1950. Taken 9-23-88 in the Nogales coach yard by Dick Stephenson.
Photo #5) SCD 701 6 section-4 bedroom-6 roomette sleeper Monte Blanco. Ex-Overland Rail Travel National View; ex-UP 1212 National View. Built by P-S in 1956. Taken 7-27-87. Note car has been re-trucked with outside swing hanger tread brake trucks, and also the rollover vestibule steps have been removed and fixed steps that look like they are from a heavyweight car have been installed in their place. Some had "cut away" beds in the roomettes rather than the full width bed roomette beds. None were rebuilt as part of Amtraks Heritage Fleet.

Another very interesting aspect of the 2 versions of the NYC Valley-series sleepers was that the Pullman Plan 9510 cars ran vestibule rear, with the roomettes facing away from the vestibule. As far as I know, this was opposite of every other Budd 10-6 sleeper, which were always oriented to run vestibule forward with the roomettes facing the vestibule. Correct. The cars in Pictures 3 and 4 are sister cars that were originally part of the same C&O order to P-S.
