Nostalgia & History > Cajon Pass - May 1975 Help with locations, pleaseDate: 02/06/25 05:00 Cajon Pass - May 1975 Help with locations, please Author: Super_C The same morning that I photographed UP 6934 East at Alray, https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,5979514 I later took these two images. If someone could jump in and tell me approximate locations, it would be appreciated. Both shots were taken in May 1975.
1. A Santa Fe eastbound with 6 clean "Pinstripes" slowly grinding up the north track on Cajon Pass. 2. From basically the same location as the first photo, the Super C led by SD45-2 5689, climbs the west slope of Cajon Pass on the steep south track. Edited 2 time(s). https://maps.app.goo.gl/tJStYp5ZnzEzL2TM6 Santa Fe didn't number tracks in double track territory - it was just the "north track" in the first photo (with SP's Palmdale cutoff visible to the right) and the "south track" in the second. When there were more than two main tracks, such as west of Argentine in Kansas City, then Santa Fe used numbers.
